Lives Lived Well offer a variety of community and residential Alcohol and Other Drug programs throughout Queensland, New South Wales, and South Australia, helping thousands of people every year to navigate AOD related challenges and move forward in life.
A new 28-bed residential rehabilitation centre is opening in Bundaberg. This facility will provide withdrawal support and residential rehabilitation services in a safe and supportive environment, aimed at promoting lasting change.
The service opens in March, and we are looking for people to join our new team to make an impact in the Bundaberg community.
Your Opportunity
As an experienced or newly graduated Registered Nurse, you will have a keen interest in the AOD and/or Mental Health sectors and be dedicated to the “whole person” care approach.
Our nurses work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including Treatment Facilitators, Support Workers and external stakeholders, so being a team player with the ability to develop and maintain relationships is essential.
We have casual roles available, which include a mixture of morning, afternoon, and overnight shifts on a 7-day roster. You will need to be flexible around being available at short notice. Hourly rate is between $66 - $70 per hour and we will provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
What we are looking for
Joining our team at Bundaberg will offer you the opportunity to develop a broad skill set across AOD and Mental Health, with duties covering both withdrawal and residential services. Your clinical duties will include:
1. Clinical assessments and effective nursing interventions including GP referrals and liaising with pharmacists
2. Providing intake support and transition of clients into the Residential service including assessment and development of care and transition plans
3. Medication management including documentation and governance
4. Managing regular Nurse Clinics including client check-ups and medication review
5. Ability to deliver group sessions, engage clients in counselling conversations and retain them in treatment
6. We operate under the Aged Care legislation so an understanding of this model would be beneficial
You will need to have a tertiary qualification in Nursing and hold current AHPRA registration.
Coupled with your clinical skill set, you will also have:
1. An understanding of how Residential Care works and be comfortable in this environment, which can include challenging situations
2. Excellent rapport building skills – you’ll be liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, so strong working relationships are important
3. A genuine dedication to helping people to reduce their substance use and improve their life journey
4. A flexible, open, and engaging approach – you’ll be working with a range of clients with differing needs and complexities
5. Strong communication skills, ability to self-manage and work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
6. An inclusive attitude and a background working with diverse groups including CALD, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
7. Good computer skills and ability to manage administrative tasks, including adding documentation to our CRM (HIVE) and medical system (HELIX)
You’ll also resonate with our values, and evidence them in your day to day working life:
1. We are humble, human, and full of hope
2. We show up and share
3. We ask “Why not” and “What’s next?”
4. We leave a positive wake
