Position Overview: This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Fund Manager to lead the Fund's strategic growth, expand Funds Under Management, deliver outstanding investment performance, and shape the future of non-bank lending in Australia.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in property credit analysis, loan structuring, and portfolio management, combined with exceptional skills in fostering and managing investor relationships.
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Chief Financial Officer to provide an integrated service delivery of investment operations to external clients (investors, borrowers, brokers and company internal stakeholders); Design and manage the fund portfolio which involves executing approved investment strategies, conducting performance attribution analysis, and overseeing execution and risk allocation; Manage and maintain company's market, liquidity, credit limits, loan drawn downs, investment and capital risk policies, practices, processes, compliance and control procedures; Ensure that transactions and portfolios adhere to credit limits and other compliance specifications; Oversee operational tasks, including Fund establishment, product setup, unitholder settlements, coordination of distributions with external Registry Services, loan discharges, communication dissemination, and overall administration of the Funds; Review the Fund's monthly financial statements with the finance team which includes liaising with external registries to ensure distribution calculations are accurate and paid on time in accordance with offer documents; Forecast Fund cashflows with a focus on managing monthly loan construction drawdowns with borrowers, future draw downs, loan repayments, and equity requirements to ensure all cash commitments are met; Partner with the Marketing Manager to deliver accurate and effective loan and investor reporting; Assist the stakeholders in the company to develop new and then execute private debt investment strategies aligned with risk-return objectives; Work with the CFO to design, implement, and track the progress of the group's annual investment operations; Build relationships and maintain effective communication between the front office (loan teams and capital raising teams), credit risk, portfolio management and the back office administrative functions (finance team and external service providers); Team up with the Credit Analyst team on analysis and underwriting new loans by evaluating through the due diligence process the borrower's financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports to ensure that the loan fits within company's risk appetite; Manage the credit risk associated with the portfolio of loans by detecting potential risks, evaluating their potential consequences, and creating risk mitigation plans; Prepare reports for the Boards of the Trustee Company and Investment and Facility Manager company on matters relating to the loan portfolio; Organise reports for all stakeholders, including the Board, management, borrowers, brokers, and external parties; Manage arrears and defaults in close coordination with the finance and legal teams to ensure effective resolution.
Technical Skills & Qualifications: 7+ years of relevant experience in private debt, structured finance, investment management, or credit analysis.
Strong understanding of non-bank lending, private credit, and alternative investments.
Proven experience in loan structuring, credit underwriting, and risk management.
Experience engaging with wholesale and managing Fund reporting.
Experience with compliance and ASIC reporting in an AFSL operating environment.
Strong financial modelling, portfolio analysis, and reporting capabilities.
Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and relationship management.
CFA, CA, Property Finance/Economics or equivalent qualifications are highly regarded.
