Clinical Nurse Specialist - Adult and Community Mental Health
Job Summary:
The Department of Health seeks a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join their team in Glenorchy, Tasmania. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse with extensive experience in mental health settings to provide specialist support and treatment recommendations.
The Team:
Glenorchy CCT is a large catchment area that includes the midlands and Derwent valley, Brighton council area, and city of Glenorchy. The team consists of lived experience workers, nurses, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and psychiatrists.
The Role:
This role involves providing clinical expertise and supporting the multidisciplinary team in Adult and Community Mental Health settings. The successful candidate will work collaboratively to provide person-centred and recovery-focused care to clients, develop strategies to address professional learning needs of community nursing staff, and promote professional standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide treatment recommendations and specialist support to the multidisciplinary team and other health professionals
* Accept responsibility as the 'designated nurse responsible' for medication coordination within the community service
* Identify professional learning needs of community nursing staff and develop strategies to address these needs
* Provide clinical expertise in contemporary nursing practice within Adult and Community Mental Health settings
Requirements:
* Extensive experience in clinical nursing practice in mental health settings, with at least five years post-graduate experience
* Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and awards, including the Mental Health Act, Right to Information Act, and Work Health and Safety Act
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Working Arrangements:
This is a fixed term full-time position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately 12 months.
Salary:
$106,570 to $112,440 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation contribution.
