Job Description We're seeking a Staff Engineer to join us on maximum term contract until end of 2025 to provide technical leadership in a team as they delivery new features for customers and tackle large technical initiatives.In this role, you'll design, implement, and maintain OUA's web-based systems within a collaborative team environment.You'll work with the product development team to understand requirements and develop customer-centred solutions, ensuring alignment with OUA's technical vision.You'll also contribute to the implementation of solutions using various programming languages, databases, and cloud technologies.We encourage a highly collaborative team environment, where you'll provide feedback and mentor junior developers.Check out our Engineering blog for more insights about our journey and progress to date.Here's a glimpse into your day-to-day: Involved in designing, coding, testing and deploying software – You'll be engaged in every aspect of software product development from inception to deployment.Helping to lead on complex features – At times you'll be expected to take the lead on complex product features that might involve collaboration across several teams.Supporting production systems and maintaining existing products – As a member of the team you'll have joint ownership of the support and maintenance of production systems.Mentoring others – You'll be involved in mentoring and coaching other members of the engineering trade.Promoting and embedding mature software engineering – You'll take active ownership of advancing software product engineering at OUA.If you're ready to make an impact, here's what we're looking for: Advanced experience in TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.Advanced experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and environments like React.js and Node.js.Advanced experience in web architecture patterns and conventions, for example micro services, API design, contract testing, containerisation, test automation and serverless architecture (GraphQL, REST, Asynchronous Events).Advanced experience in modern software development techniques such as test-driven development, refactoring, deployment automation and CI/CD.Experience with cloud computing services (AWS) and associated technologies Creative thinker, able to think creatively through complex problems and discover the best path.Strong ownership of problems and consultative approach to business partnering.Able to adapt quickly and manage an environment of rapid change.Resilient, flexible and comfortable working with ambiguity.
