Job Title: Field Technician
We are seeking a skilled Field Technician to perform on-site installations, maintenance, and repairs of various hardware and systems ensuring optimal functionality for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Support end-user computing infrastructure including:
1. Desktops
2. Laptops
3. Monitors
4. Printers
5. Skype/MS Teams telephony
6. End-user peripherals
7. Other devices enabling similar capabilities
Provide touch services for issues related to:
1. Wintel
2. Networking
3. Storage
4. Audio Visual System
5. Video Conferencing facilities
6. Other devices with similar capabilities
Additional duties include:
1. Coordinating activities with other suppliers to resolve incidents or service requests.
2. Providing support for controlled shutdown and activities affecting computer rooms.
3. Supporting other suppliers maintaining network-attached printers and multi-function devices (MFDs).
4. Assisting with end-user configuration of new MFDs or additional printing peripherals.
5. Facilitating access for approved external personnel to site computer rooms with restricted access.
6. Performing on-site activities, including scheduled recurring tasks requested by the company, such as:
1. Conducting site computer or server room physical and environmental checks.
2. Performing rolling desktop asset audits.
3. Rebooting or power cycling devices.
4. Providing IT supplier escort or onsite assistance to support teams for incident diagnosis resolution or service requests.
Provide desktop-related hardware and software break-fix and support:
1. Diagnosing and correcting malfunctions and failures of equipment installed at designated service location sites using designated support methods.
2. Desktop assistance for supported software and hardware components including operating systems.
3. Second-line resolution of generic desktop application incidents including but not limited to:
1. Operating system
2. Microsoft Office applications
3. Email applications
4. Desktop-related internet issues
4. Hardware support – first-level problem diagnosis for desk and laptop hardware and associated peripherals where call cannot be confirmed as hardware failure by Service desk.
5. Including swap out of faulty components, using site stock available.
Collaborate with hardware maintenance and repair services as required for field-based stock and specialized skills requirements.
Limited printer support such as assistance with paper jams, changing of consumables excluding paper.
Diagnose and correct malfunctions and software failures for in-scope services.
Onsite assistance for supported software components including operating systems related drivers to support approved peripherals and software applications.
Develop relationships with site users; periodically meet critical users.
Identify incidents or situations requiring escalation; trigger formal escalation in accordance with the employer's contract and in-scope services.
Carry devices to the site to perform required swap outs/device replacements while receiving appropriate guidance from the technical support team.
Carry valid employee ID proof or government-issued ID proof while visiting client locations and completing induction for sites as required by customer.
Maintain vehicle or wash the windscreen to ensure that customer sites' safety requirements are met. Contribute to the Company Safety Guarantee including but not limited to:
* Conducting regular safety workplace interactions.
* Participating in safety discussions.
