About This Role
This role is crucial to our team's initiative to support Queensland families. As a Fostering Support Practitioner, you will utilise your skills and experience to deliver key services, including carer recruitment, training, and assessments, as well as community support services and crisis intervention.
You will report to our Team Leader and be responsible for providing therapeutic and practical support services to children, young people, carers, and families.
What We Are Looking For
* Possession of a degree qualification in social work, psychology, social sciences, or a related discipline
* Minimum two years' experience in the provision of care services to children, young people, and their families in statutory care
* Demonstrated experience in providing training to carers and applying assessment, crisis intervention, and short-term intervention skills and therapeutic approaches
* Applied knowledge and understanding of child protection and out-of-home care frameworks
* Possess or the ability to acquire a National Police Check, Working with Children (Blue Card), Licensed Care Service (Child Protection)
