Company Description FT or PT ECC Veterinary Nurse – Veterinary Referral Hospital, Dandenong VIC Are you an experienced general practice nurse looking to branch out into referral?Or maybe you've got emergency experience but are looking for something new!VRH is seeking an enthusiastic FT or PT nurse to join us in the exciting world of Emergency and Critical Care, and you could be the perfect fit!As this is an ECC role, successful applicants must be available for a variety of shift work across a 24-hour roster.The Emergency & Critical Care department is open 24 hours, 365 days a year including public holidays.We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who have a preference or availability to work Swing or OOH Shifts.ECC nursing at VRH encompasses a variety of roles including ICU and hospital nursing, support roles as well as triage and patient stabilisation, so no two shifts are ever the same!You will be able to work in roles that are best suited to you and your capabilities.You may be able to jump straight in as an experienced ECC nurse or you may want some additional training and guidance as you learn the ropes.Our ECC leadership team will ensure you're always comfortable with the work you do and that you feel continually supported.You will work closely with our team of wonderful ECC nurses and vets – including specialists in Emergency & Critical Care – who always look out for and encourage one another.Our case load is varied and interesting, meaning you will have opportunities every day to learn and grow your skills and knowledge in a supportive environment.VRH is privileged to have a multi-disciplinary team, including vets, specialists and experienced nurses in ECC, Anaesthesia, Neurology, Imaging, Internal Medicine and Surgery, ensuring we always give our patients the best care possible.Everyone works together and participates in hospital rounds each morning to help us achieve the best results for our patients every day.Seeing a patient go home after spending days, even weeks, in hospital is always so rewarding and it's wonderful knowing we all pull together at VRH to make these outcomes possible.To be successful in your application you will be able to demonstrate the following: Qualifications as a Veterinary Nurse, minimum Certificate IV or equivalent At least 2 years' experience in the veterinary industry as a nurse Exceptional organisation and communication skills Ability to work as part of a team and follow instruction, but also demonstrating initiative A positive "we've got this" attitude The ability to adapt to change and handle the unpredictable Demonstrated skills in anaesthetic set-up, monitoring and surgery techniques A willingness to work a rotating roster including nights and weekends Experience in emergency and referral hospitals is preferable but not essential If you are looking for a new and exciting role, why not get in contact to see if we are the team and the hospital for you?
