Registered Psychologists & Senior Social Workers - CairnsWorkPac is working on behalf of QLD Government department to search for multiple Registered Psychologists and Senior Social Workers.

About the role: This role is a key leadership position within Psychological and Support Services, overseeing mental health programs to support staff, volunteers, and their families.
Working collaboratively with statewide teams, you will drive a wellbeing-focused culture through prevention and intervention services.
Responsibilities include delivering best-practice mental health programs, short-term counselling, training, and triaging support needs to ensure optimal mental health outcomes.
Key requirements Mandatory requirements Registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency; orMental Health accredited member of the Australian Association of Social Workers.Highly desirable requirements Ideal Candidate: Post-graduate qualifications in a relevant field (e.g., Organisational Psychology) highly regarded.Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn Queensland Mental Health Service delivery, legislation, and policies.Experience leading mental health programs in a large government organisation.Skilled in developing and delivering evidence-based mental health initiatives and risk mitigation strategies.Your key accountabilities Key Responsibilities: Lead and deliver best-practice mental health services for staff, volunteers, and families, including triaging, short-term counselling, and training.Develop regional mental health plans using data-driven insights and stakeholder consultation.Collaborate with Program Managers to ensure statewide consistency and governance of services.Oversee regional support networks, including crisis support triaging.Facilitate training, workshops, and events to promote mental health awareness.Prepare reports, briefs, and submissions on psychological support services.Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.Represent the department in committees and working groups to drive wellbeing initiatives.Capabilities Your suitability for this role will be evaluated based on the Leadership Competencies for Queensland, aligned with the key accountabilities:
