Relocating to Our Region

About the role:
Within the Diabetes program the Podiatrist will work between inpatients and the High Risk Foot Clinic. The Podiatrist will ensure that interventions chosen are effective and based on best available evidence. The Podiatrist will liaise closely with other key stakeholders across a range of programs and service areas within GV Health and externally to form collaborative partnerships to support service provision. They will provide assessment and management of vascular, neurological, dermatological, biomechanical, and infection-related foot problems to clients of all ages.
Within Community Health the Podiatrist is responsible for providing assessment, treatment/management and advice to both paediatric and adult consumers presenting with a range of biomechanical, vascular, cutaneous, nail, diabetic and infection-related foot problems. Services are primarily provided in our modern clinic facilities.

This position offers you the opportunity to progress and enhance your clinical skills while being well supported role with clinical supervision provided by a senior Grade 3 Podiatrist, including endorsement of scheduled medicines, biopsy and total contact casting.
You'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse clinical case mix across both the High Risk Foot Clinic and Community Health Podiatry Clinic, providing you with the exposure, learning opportunities and wide range of work experience for career development.

As Grade 1, the successful applicant will have:
* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Podiatrist.
* Knowledge and skills in the planning, implementation and evaluation of current Podiatry practice within inpatient and outpatient based settings.
* Knowledge of evidence based approaches to high-risk foot podiatry interventions and the ability to apply these to consumer care.
* Excellent communication skills including interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, along with computer literacy and the ability to produce well-written reports.
* Able to independently manage a diverse caseload of clients, and also work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
