The DTA leads the Australian Government's system of assurance for its digital projects. This system ensures agencies make best use of independent assurance to drive good decisions and ensure digital projects deliver expected benefits for Australians. The system also underpins 'system learning' to create and maintain the conditions digital projects need to succeed across the Australian Government. In 2024-25, our 'system learning' reforms include our work on the Benefits Management Policy, the Major Digital Projects Report, a new training program for leaders of digital projects launching in early 2025, and several others.
As a Director of one of these teams, you will have overall accountability for coordinating the DTA's assurance engagement with a portfolio of agencies. You will ensure your team provides a seamless service for these agencies ('front door') ensuring they are supported to meet the requirements under the Assurance Framework for Digital and ICT Investments. This includes ensuring that agencies prepare and maintain fit-for-purpose assurance plans. These plans set out how independent assurance will be deployed strategically across the life of each project to support good decision-making with your team providing the expert advice agencies need to achieve this and gathering as well as analysing the outcomes of assurance activities to target the work of other teams in the Branch and the DTA. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include working with your peers across the DTA and with other central and digital policy owner agencies to deliver an integrated assurance experience to agencies implementing digital projects.
As a member of the Branch's senior management team, in addition to your core responsibility for creating and maintaining a culture of partnership and collaboration with agencies in the operation of the assurance system, you will also work to provide overall system, functional and operational leadership for the assurance state of the Investment Oversight Framework.
This responsibility extends to playing a key role in architecting and supporting successful implementation of the reforms underpinning our 'system learning' focus as well as working with policy owners in the DTA to support use of the assurance system to 'activate' their policies across the Australian Government's digital projects.
