About the Role Stanley College is looking for a Part-Time Facilities Officer (Maintenance) to join our enthusiastic team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment. As a Facilities Officer (Maintenance), you will be the go-to person for all maintenance needs. You will be responsible for everything from minor repairs, furniture assembly, and preventative maintenance, to coordinating larger projects that enhance and improve the campus infrastructure. But this isn’t just about fixing things—this role involves planning and problem-solving, as well as working closely with both internal teams and external to keep the campus running smoothly. Whether it’s a quick repair or a larger renovation, you’ll be directly contributing to the ongoing success of the college and ensuring that our facilities remain a great place for both students and staff. Key Responsibilities Facility Upkeep & Maintenance: Ensure the campus remains functional and visually appealing by addressing various maintenance needs, including minor plumbing, carpet repairs, painting, and general upkeep, to provide a well-maintained environment for staff and students. Preventative Maintenance: Proactively identify and address potential maintenance concerns. Assist in ensuring the facilities are well-prepared for any potential breakdowns or issues. Health, Safety, & Compliance: Champion workplace health and safety standards, reporting hazards and risks immediately to ensure the safety of students, staff, and contractors. Conduct regular checks and inspections to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations Coordination & Collaboration: Assist the Line Manager in coordinating maintenance tasks with internal teams and external, ensuring smooth execution of planned activities. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure all work complies with the college’s policies and procedures. About You You bring a hands-on approach to problem-solving, with the following skills and experience: Maintenance Expertise: Knowledge of general facility upkeep, including cleaning techniques, painting, and minor repairs Detail-Oriented: Strong focus on cleanliness and ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standard Proactive Problem Solver: Ability to spot maintenance issues early and take appropriate action to address them Flexible & Adaptable: You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Whether it’s an urgent repair or a long-term project, you’ve got it covered Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Experience & Qualifications • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various work sites within the Perth metropolitan area is essential • A technical trade qualification would be advantageous but not essential. • Previous experience in commercial or institutional, maintenance or facilities management is preferred.
