Position Details
The Aboriginal Teacher Assistant (Secondary) is responsible for providing professional culture and contextual support in the classroom and school environment, working under the general supervision and guidance of the Classroom Teacher. This role assists with the development of teaching programs and provides cultural advice and awareness to students, teachers, and Principal, aiming to improve learning, welfare, and wellbeing outcomes.
This position involves:
* Assisting in establishing and maintaining close working relationships with families, local community stakeholders, and other networks through well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
* Initiating tasks, working independently, and actively contributing to a dynamic team environment while embracing continuous learning.
* Participating in Co-curricular activities.
* Utilizing basic IT competently.
* Modeling and upholding the Catholic ethos and traditions of the College.
* Maintaining confidentiality at a high standard.
Qualifications include:
* Aboriginality per Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984.
* A current Working with Children Check WA.
* A current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
* An unrestricted WA 'C' class drivers' licence.
