Aurizon is seeking a dynamic Project Engineer to join our Project Management team within the Network business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing essential technical expertise, project management, and on-site coordination for our construction projects.
You will work closely with clients and internal and external stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans, including defining scopes of work, setting programs, and executing works within allocated time frames. You will also manage cost plans and cash flows to align with customer specifications and expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering asset renewal projects, maintenance, and external growth projects covering general earthworks, formation, turnouts, track upgrades, level crossings, and other associated works.
* Providing support to project teams throughout the entire project lifecycle, from receiving scope to project completion.
* Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams/stakeholders to identify and resolve delivery roadblocks and escalate when required.
* Providing advice on project planning and developing project cost estimates, risk assessments, construction methods, procedures, and programs when required.
* Supporting and supervising field operations, ensuring work complies with quality, safety, environmental standards, and relevant legislation, fostering a culture of excellence in project outcomes.
* Identifying design and constructability issues and assisting in providing efficient solutions.
About You:
* Bachelor of Engineering (Civil preferred)
* CPEng/RPEQ qualifications (or working towards)
* Current Class C Drivers Licence (mandatory)
* Minimum 3-5 years on-site experience supervising construction teams and external contractors (essential)
* Previous rail asset management (preferred) and infrastructure construction experience
* High-level skills in planning, organising, and programming infrastructure construction projects
* Familiarity with WHS and Environmental legislation and ability to produce Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), understand company Quality procedures, and WHS Act
* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft and Primavera (preferred)
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, both written and verbal
* Willingness to commit to travel as needed and relocate to Sarina/Mackay region for the role (no FIFO/DIDO)
