Bechtel will collaborate with ERA and Rio Tinto to restore the land to its original state, mirroring that of the surrounding Kakadu National Park – a World Heritage site.
A collaborative project, this endeavor will be developed in consultation with the Mirarr Traditional Owners and will benefit the Jabiru community.
Located 8 km east of Jabiru and 260 km south-east of Darwin, the Ranger Project will lead the way in mining closures in the fast-growing area.

Job Summary:
An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Contract Specialist – Studies to join Bechtel's Mining & Metals ERA Project team in Brisbane.
Reporting to the Contracts Lead, you will serve as the primary commercial point of contact for the study team, performing both formation and administration of commitments.
You will be responsible for managing engineering service provider agreements and may lead other personnel, subject to scope requirements.
As the primary contract administrator, you will effectively liaise with project Supply Chain (procurement and contracts) personnel, corporate groups, functional departments, global business unit contracts personnel, and other project supervisors.
Maintaining relationships with bidders and contractor personnel requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively and inclusively.
In this role, you will lead a team to manage subcontracts and monitor operations.
This position is designated as part-time telework, per our global telework policy, and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project.
Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
* Prepare bidders' lists and pre-qualify bidders.
* Form bid request packages for high-value, complex, or risk-prone packages and issue bid request packages to approved bidders.
* Coordinate bidders' questions and provide answers.
* Receive bids and evaluate them commercially.
* Lead negotiation of terms and conditions for assigned packages and support other team members as required.
* Prepare Commercial Bid Summary and Recommendation for Award.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Broad experience in the formation, negotiation, and award of all types of contracts, including cross-functional experience in two or more contract disciplines, is necessary.
Experience administering commercial agreements in the Northern Territory is an asset.
Experience in an Ethics and Compliance role is also beneficial.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Knowledge of law, negotiations, accounting, or cost engineering gained through education or experience.
* Understanding of project functional groups and company policies, procedures, and work practices.
* Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
