About the role… 12-month contract opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer within the Cloud Network Services team in Sydney. You'll play a key role in safeguarding critical network infrastructure in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment. The role focuses on NetOps and vulnerability management, involving tasks such as identifying and remediating network vulnerabilities, leading device upgrades, and ensuring compliance with security standards. Experience in ISP and data center networks, expertise in routing, switching, and security technologies, and proficiency with cloud platforms, automation tools, and scripting are required for this role. Key Responsibilities Vulnerability Management: Lead identification, assessment, and remediation of network vulnerabilities. Analyze vulnerability scan results, prioritize based on severity, and develop remediation strategies. Collaborate with security teams to address vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards. NetOps & Network Upgrades: Plan and execute network device upgrades in line with ServiceNow policies. Maintain network configurations and documentation. Collaborate with global teams to align network security objectives. Incident Response: Investigate security incidents related to vulnerabilities. Coordinate response activities to ensure timely resolution. Collaboration & Leadership: Act as the primary contact for vulnerability management in Australia and the US. Partner with peers in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. What We're Looking For Experience: 6 years in ISP and data center network engineering. Solid foundation in routing, switching, security, and load balancing. Expertise with network technologies (BGP, OSPF, HSRP/VRRP, etc.) and TCP/IP protocols. Hands-on experience with tools like Wireshark and vulnerability assessment tools (Nessus, Qualys). Technical Skills: Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, F5, Palo Alto systems; NGINX and Fortinet are a plus. 2 years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) and automation (Ansible, Terraform). Certifications (Preferred): CCNA, CCNP, CCIE. Attributes: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and the ability to collaborate with a globally distributed team. Capability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
