CNC MachinistMineralsArtarmonFixed Term ContractMorning Shift - 5.00am – 3.00pm | 6.00am – 4.00pmPurpose of Role:Weir Minerals is on the lookout for a qualified and experienced individual to join our team. You will be responsible for the safe & productive operation of all of our machines which include CNC vertical borers, horizontal machining centers, manual vertical borers, and radial drills.This role is an eight-month fixed-term contract with the view of going permanent.Key Responsibilities:Ensure your work is completed in a safe manner, to the required specification and in the time provided.Advise support staff of any issues.Report safety incidents and any hazards identified to your supervisor.Report any quality concerns to your supervisor.Inspect your own work and enter dimensional information into the database.Ensure all technical matters are handled in a professional manner.Actively assist in safety and continuous improvement programs.Ensure any defective materials are quarantined for a non-conformance report to be generated.Conduct a detailed handover to the opposite shift to enable them to continue work safely and effectively.Ensure that workstations are clean and orderly, in line with 6S principles.Complete pre-start safety checks and machine TPM checks.Job Knowledge:Trade qualification in Machining and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in manual and CNC machine operation.Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as risk assessments, operating procedures, and component drawings.Able to read and fully understand engineering drawings.Able to work with minimum supervision and independently.Apply production techniques.Why choose Weir:Be part of a global organization dedicated to building a better future: At Weir, the growing world depends on us.
