About the Role: The Work Ready Program Project Officer is responsible for coordination and program execution, overseeing participant engagement, coordinating logistics and maintaining stakeholder relationships. The Project Officer is responsible for ensuring that the program meets it objective of giving young Dambimangari community members an opportunity to develop personal, lifestyle and workplace skills. About the Corporation: Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation (DAC) provides a unique opportunity to work closely with Aboriginal people in one of the most remote and spectacular regions of the Kimberley. DAC is a small Aboriginal Corporation dedicated to the benefit of our members, Dambimangari Traditional Owners. DAC is the governing body for all Dambimangari business on behalf of our members, and in line with traditional Law and Culture. We employ more than 30 staff, the majority of whom are Traditional Owners. The Corporation’s key functions include: Managing Native Title including engaging with mining, tourism and other access and development proposals. Members Services like health and education. Land and sea management (Indigenous Protected Area, Ranger Program & Jointly Managed Marine Park). Cultural heritage management. Economic development. Visitor management. Cultural programs. What We Are Looking For: We are seeking a project officer with previous experience in program planning, project coordination or management, and logistical planning. You will need to have strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. You will also need excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work autonomously. Duties Will Include: Acting as the main point of contact for Dambimanagari Traditional Owner mentors and the overall training program. Providing mentors with the program plan, outline their responsibilities, and support them weekly. Coordinating with TAFE and external agencies to facilitate skills development and work site visits. Overseeing program logistics, including transportation, securing training venues and set up of venues and equipment, ensuring participant engagement and support. Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and the community to deliver program outcomes. Playing an integral role in shaping the future direction of the program by actively participating in strategic planning sessions. Completing all reporting needed for funding acquittal purposes, including progress reports throughout the program and final report at the end of the program. Developing and maintaining a record of attendance for participation, following up on absenteeism and developing strategies to overcome absentee issues. Developing and maintaining a record of all budget expenditure. Qualifications and Experience: Experience with program planning. Experience in project coordination or management, preferably within a nonprofit or community-focused organisation. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in logistical planning and resource management. Ability to work independently. Valid driver's license and ability to provide transportation as needed.
