Our Health Services team provides primary and specialist care based on a patient-centred model allowing patients to actively participate in their health management. As a Registered Nurse in the Clarence Correctional Centre Health team, you’ll make a positive impact by: Providing holistic care for sexual health issues: Patients receive comprehensive care aimed at minimising long-term complications and improving their quality of life. Patient Education: Provide education on sexual health issues and harm reduction strategies. Peer Support and Knowledge Building: Offer education, consultation, liaison, and advice to peers to enhance their knowledge. About Clarence Correctional Centre Opened in mid-2020, this 1,700-bed state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional Centre in Australia. Located on the beautiful NSW North Coast approx. 6 hours' drive from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Brisbane our region offers rainforests, epic headlands, sand dunes and some of the best Australian beaches with a variety of multi-cultural cafes, restaurants, and friendly community towns. Serco is a place for you You will join a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals, including medical practitioners, nurses, and specialists, to deliver integrated patient-centred healthcare in a corrections environment. Your work will involve educating custodial patients on healthy living and lifestyle choices. You will assist with reintegration into the community, ensuring continuity of care. This role addresses the diverse needs of a custodial patient population, including men, women, and culturally and linguistically diverse individuals. To be successful in this role you’ll have: Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse, with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Relevant post-graduate qualifications in sexual health or working towards the same Experience in a primary health or acute setting or sexual health-related role and two years full-time equivalent experience. Experience in conducting health assessments and the case management of patients’ health care delivery. Qualifications and experience in Cervical Screening (desirable) Cultural awareness includes understanding the impact and management and working with people of different ethnic backgrounds, customs, and contemporary health issues.
