The Head of Sales is responsible for overseeing the business development process across our entire organization.
This position is primarily responsible for providing strategic advice and guidance to c-level executives on the sales and business development process which will lead to the future growth of our organization.
The successful candidate should be able to foster a high-performance sales culture in order to align sales efforts with business goals.
In this position, you will drive the growth of our entire product portfolio by expanding customer engagement across all markets through strategic leadership.
This will ensure that all sales channels are optimized for maximum reach and profitability.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for business development that aligns with business objectives to achieve and exceed quarterly/annual sales targets.Sales Development: Develop relationships and lead high-level negotiations to close deals with potential clients, strategic partners, and other stakeholders to expand business opportunities.Product Expansion: Identify and execute new product opportunities, exploring growth channels beyond the current focus to diversify and increase revenue streams.Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize performance of the sales team to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices.Market Growth: Spearhead new market opportunities, business segments, and areas for expansion to drive revenue growth.Brand Ambassador: Function as a representative of the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance brand visibility and forge strategic partnership.Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate systems, negotiate contracts, and ensure service level agreements are met.Budget and Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively, and track expenses related to business development projects.Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Collaborate with teams across the company, including marketing, IT, customer service and product development, to ensure cohesive efforts towards business development goals.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:Possession of a bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Management, or a related field is required (master's degree preferred).
Proven experience with 10 or more years in a sales role, advising senior executives on strategy and processes is required.
Proven experience with 5 or more years effectively managing and leading teams is required.
Experience with the building materials or construction industry is preferred.
Strong understanding of business development best practices.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
