GRANTS AND PARTNERSHIPS PORTFOLIO MANAGER • An exciting opportunity to work with the Grants and Partnerships Team to identify and design multi-million dollar land restoration and rural livelihoods projects • Fixed term (3 years) full-time position • Hybrid position: home and office-based (Nairobi, Kenya) THE ORGANISATION The Global EverGreening Alliance (the Alliance) is an international NGO that coordinates the development and implementation of massive-scale land restoration programs in developing countries around the world. The Alliance was established to develop and apply long-term solutions to the global problems of land degradation and climate change. This is done through a collaborative approach with an emphasis on evergreening practices: regenerative farming that integrates trees into crop and livestock production systems of smallholder farms. Our members include World Vision, CARE International, Oxfam, Catholic Relief Services, Conservation International and the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF), as well as many other international NGOs, research institutes, and grassroots organisations. Reporting to the Grants and Partnerships Manager (based in Australia), the Africa Portfolio Manager will identify and design multi-million dollar land restoration and rural livelihoods projects in the Africa region, in collaboration with investors/donors and Alliance in-country members. This is a unique opportunity to work across an exceptionally diverse base of stakeholders and programs, and to work in partnership with leading NGOs to support vulnerable communities and restore degraded landscapes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES • Lead the development of proposals for large-scale land restoration projects in the Africa region • Manage relationships with external partners • Contribute to the strengthening of systems, processes and procedures relating to project design in the Alliance Please refer to the attached Position Description for further detail. K EY SELECTION CRITERIA • Tertiary qualification in international development, environmental science, agriculture, climate change, natural resource management or similar • Minimum of three years’ experience with projects relating to rural development, agriculture, environmental conservation, ecosystem services, climate change mitigation, or similar • Demonstrated experience in writing proposals, tenders, bids or similar documents for donors, investors or other funders in an international development context • Strong project and program design skills, including in the development of logical frameworks, project budgets, risk assessments, and similar deliverables • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to build and manage relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders • Well-developed time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks, manage heavy workloads, and meet deadlines • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive ‘can do’ attitude • Excellent spoken and written skills in English HOW TO APPLY You must have the right to work in Kenya to apply for this role.
