Risk & Governance Manager – Aged Care
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Risk & Governance Manager to join our value-driven organisation within residential aged care. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading risk management and governance frameworks, ensuring our services meet all compliance, accreditation, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
* Lead, direct, and integrate Quality Systems across the organisation in consultation with the General Manager.
* Support Home Managers in achieving compliance with Accreditation Standards and governance requirements.
* Attend and assist with site audits conducted by the Aged Care Quality & Safety Commission.
* Identify trends and gaps in compliance, making appropriate recommendations to the General Manager and Executive Managers.
* Conduct workplace investigations in collaboration with Managers and the People & Culture Manager.
* Ensure training solutions are optimised to maintain a skilled workforce.
* Collaborate with the Project Lead to integrate IT, Clinical, and Quality Systems to meet compliance with all accreditation and governance requirements.
* Monitor and report on governance, risk, and compliance metrics, including internal and external audits, continuous improvement plans, and incident management systems.
* Respond to regulatory requests and complaints, liaising with the Aged Care Quality & Safety Commission and other relevant bodies.
Requirements
* Current National Police Certificate, satisfying the requirements of the Aged Care Act.
* High level of verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong knowledge of Quality and Risk Management Systems.
* Proficiency in statistical analysis and relevant computer skills.
* Proven experience in a similar role for a minimum of 3 years, ideally within healthcare or aged care sectors.
* Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities.
* Genuine interest and commitment to the holistic well-being of the elderly, with an empathetic and understanding approach.
* AHPRA Registration and Clinical/Nursing background (advantageous).
* Knowledge of AN-ACC and related documentation (desirable).
