Based in Baulkham Hills, we are looking for a responsible and experienced individual to join our team as a Laboratory Manager. Working independently this role reports to the Laboratory Services Manager and involves undertaking tasks in relation to leading a diverse and experienced team of employees to deliver in an industry leading laboratory.
Your day will involve:
* Actively promote and lead safe work practices and the adherence to relevant OH&S management
* Develop and enhance the laboratory's capabilities, efficiency, and explore opportunities for new services to boost revenue and profitability.
* Manage and mentor a dedicated team of laboratory staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
* Ensure all laboratory activities comply with NATA accreditation requirements
* P&L responsibility for revenue, profitability and cost control for the laboratory
What are we looking for?
* A strong set of leadership skills
* A commitment to safety and quality
* Good financial acumen and experience in running a P&L
* Nata signatory for a range on construction material tests
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in science or another relevant discipline e.g. Civil, Chemical or Materials - (desirable but not essential).
* Well-developed skills and understanding of computer systems for monitoring and reporting of data (especially Qest, Word, Excel etc).
* Good time management and organisational skills
* An ability to cope with competing priorities and deadlines
* Process improvement (Lean / Six Sigma) training
* Knowledge of Australian and Industry standards
* Good communication and organizational skills
