The Opportunity
This is a newly created role and part of a new IT operating model designed to drive innovation and efficiency. As the Manager, Workplace Technologies at UniSC, you’ll lead a team that ensures smooth and efficient IT experiences for our students, staff, and visitors across all campuses. You'll oversee the operations of workplace technologies, from client computing to audio-visual support, making sure our digital and AV systems run seamlessly. Acting as a strategic partner, you’ll ensure our technology aligns with UniSC’s goals, while driving the adoption of digital-first solutions and promoting self-service across our university community. You will
* lead a team to deliver innovative workplace technology solutions, ensuring a seamless experience for staff and students in line with UniSC’s goals;
* drive operational excellence, achieving high customer satisfaction through efficient management of daily and project activities;
* guide the transformation of workplace technologies, collaborating with architects, engineers, and vendors to support UniSC’s digital evolution; and
* provide strategic advice to stakeholders, promoting continuous improvement in the design and support of workplace technologies.
About you
You're a forward-thinking leader with a passion for driving digital transformation and shaping the future of workplace technologies. You’ll lead a digital-first culture, leveraging technology to boost productivity while keeping the university’s security front of mind. With your focus on continuous improvement, you’ll enhance digital services and processes, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction. You're skilled at building strong partnerships with architects and senior stakeholders, aligning technology plans with UniSC’s broader strategy. Your leadership inspires and motivates teams, and you're comfortable managing budgets, contracts, and performance metrics to deliver meaningful results.
You will possess:
* Significant experience in delivering exceptional end-user experiences with digital technologies like AV, VC, simulation, and visualisation in higher education or similar environments.
* Proven track record in implementing digital technology roadmaps, such as Microsoft Office 365, to maximise client value and drive innovative use of workplace technology platforms.
* Familiarity with Desktop as a Service for managing client devices, including laptops, mobile and tablet devices, thin client PCs, cameras, and wireless AV solutions.
* Strong leadership skills with a talent for building and sustaining high-performing teams to meet both strategic and operational goals.
* Experience managing budgets and forecasts within the digital workplace technology space.
* Expertise in negotiating and managing third-party contracts effectively.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to cultivate strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, showcasing critical thinking and influencing abilities to achieve win-win outcomes.
* Experience in the higher education sector is a plus.
