About the Roles
Talk Plus Allied Health Centre is a great place for you to grow a rewarding career. We provide speech pathology, occupational therapy, early childhood teacher and therapy assistant services for children and teens at the Sunshine Coast. Our services are mainly centre-based, with options for school-based services and telehealth. We have a lovely light-filled practice, with a full kitchen and covered outdoor area suitable for groups and nature-based sessions.
We have a position available for a senior Occupational Therapist, either as a part-time employee or contractor, to supervise and support our OT team and provide services to clients.
We also have a speech pathology position available, suitable for either a new graduate or an experienced speech pathologist. Full-time and part-time positions are available, with flexible working arrangements.
Our Clients
At Talk Plus, you can gain experience working in a range of areas, while also further developing your special interest areas.
* Children from 2 years to 16 years, with most of clients aged 3 to 12 years.
* We see a range of clients, some for a short burst of therapy and others with longer term needs.
* We enjoy working with many children who have autism, ADHD/ADD, DCD.
* Typical areas we support for OT include: self-care, school performance areas, fine motor and gross motor, emotional regulation and social communication.
* Typical areas we support for speech pathology include: speech production, oral language, social communication and literacy/written language.

* Clinical supervision weekly or fortnightly (depending on experience) with a senior speech pathologist with 25 years paediatric experience or experienced OT.

* Mastery partners, where we invite external experts to lead specific professional development to provide therapists with a wide range of knowledge.

About Us
Talk Plus Allied Health Centre is a respected private practice with a strong reputation for high quality and evidence-based care. We have provided private speech pathology services at the Sunshine Coast for over 20 years, formally as Speech Pathology for Children and re-branded to Talk Plus with the additional allied health services.
We have well established relationships with many schools, kindergartens and early learning centres at the Sunshine Coast.
What You Need
We are looking for awesome! We are looking for individuals with a focus on providing high-quality, family focused services who show kindness, warmth and fun.
* Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology.
* Current membership with AHPRA (for OT) or Speech Pathology Australia (or eligibility for membership) for Speech Pathologist.
* Current Working with Children's check (WWCC)/ Blue Card (or eligibility to apply).
* A current driver's licence and use of own vehicle.
* Commitment to continuing professional development and evidence-based practice.
* Evidence of ability to work in a team and build and maintain co-operative professional and therapeutic relationships.
* Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
