We are looking for an Estimator – Customer Manager (Trades & Services, Production, mechanical engineering) to join our team here at APR Engineering!
The Role

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Estimation / Quotation
* Review enquiries, specifications, drawings to prepare detailed cost estimates and quotes for customers.
* Analyse job scope, labour, material and time requirements for jobs.
* Collaborate with our Workshop team to refine estimates and adjust as necessary.
* Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
* Feedback and communication with customers on quotations and job issues.
* Update due dates of jobs/orders to keep on time in OPTO and with Customers.
* Profit and Loss, reporting to management: ensure the site is operating profitability.
* Ordering material.
* Prepare jobs and related documents for Workshop.
Customers
* Developing a solid and trusting relationship with a portfolio of key customers and suppliers.
* Establishing and maintaining regular in-person or written communications with customers and suppliers to ensure customer expectations and product contract requirements are fully met.
* Acquire a thorough understanding of customers’ needs and requirements.
* Expanding relationships and helping to grow our client database. Increase order volume by establishing strong relationships with existing and new customers and achieving monthly targets.
Skills and Experience:
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is highly preferred.
* Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret technical documents and specifications.
* Proven 3 years minimum experience in a similar role.
* Experience in CNC machining desirable.
* Be self – motivated and have the ability to work under pressure.
* Be flexible, a quick thinker and able to prioritise tasks extremely well
* Be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel (OPTO software knowledge a bonus)
* Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
* Ability to initiate and recommend process improvements within the team.
