The Opportunity:
As a casual Bush Crew Member you will be a part of a field based team undertaking land management activities in bushland, parks, reserves, and waterways to achieve environmental project outcomes.
Some of your duties will include:
1. Application of a wide variety of weed control techniques including use of herbicides
2. General labouring, revegetation and watering
3. Operating and maintaining a range of handheld power tools
4. Contributing to a safe work environment including participation in safety conversations, hazard identification and reporting
5. Understanding and implementing operating procedures
6. Completing administrative tasks and data collection using mobility platforms
You will have:
7. Relevant TAFE or University education is desirable, or relevant experience working in either bush crew, arboriculture, landscape gardening or in related field as a labourer.
8. Knowledge of both indigenous and exotic vegetation within Greater Melbourne and experience with herbicide application is highly regarded
9. Ability to work proactively and constructively in a team environment
10. Sound interpersonal skills and the capability to communicate clearly and effectively with work colleges and the general public.
11. A genuine passion for the environment and be physically fit and capable of working outdoors.
12. Note: Driver's licence and own vehicle or access to reliable transport to access work sites and a Construction OHS Induction card (White Card) and First Aid Level 2 are required.
