- Bench, you'll make a positive impact by: You will be responsible for delivery of primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.You will form part of a multidisciplinary team working toward the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.You will play an integral role in assessing Defence personnel for fitness for duty and in the provision of care that will support the health and welling of members pre and post deployments.You will be required to provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO), Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager and Commanders of units.You will be supported by a Team of Senior Medical Officers and uniformed colleagues.You may be required to provide the services in either an outpatient setting or inpatient care setting within a ward.A "Bench" role is a permanent employee status, so you will accrue sick and annual leave and know each day is a possible availability to be called in to backfill sick leave or planned leave on those days.It is a role rostering/operations use to fill shifts each week where they may have a vacancy, short term sick leave or planned annual leave.It is different to a casual role in the respect you are on the permanent staff and paid as a full time employee whether you fill all of your shift quota of 5 days or not.This does require a fair bit of flexibility and commitment to being available as you would be paid for each day.About ADF Health Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.Minimum of 2 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.Please note: You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.You don't need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian
