What you'll be doing
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of high quality, professional nursing care that is underpinned by compassion and consistent with NSW Health and ISLHD values, policies and standards.
The Registered Nurse is required to work to their scope of practice. The Registered Nurse is to retain responsibility and accountability for their personal and professional actions.
The Registered Nurse will work with the Enrolled Nurse and Assistant in Nursing, and ensure that delegated functions are suitable to their scope of practice.
The RN Palliative Care will work within the ISLHD Community Palliative Care Service to provide patient centred palliative care for people with advanced life limiting illnesses, their families and carers. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the role provides direct care to clients and their caregivers in the home environment and works with primary care, community based services, other specialist services or clinicians, aged care facilities and group homes. The role requires a commitment to palliative care and the ability to work independently in the community with guidance and support from senior palliative care clinicians. Responsibilities include palliative care assessment, symptom management and ongoing care planning and nursing care.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.
