About The ClientFriends of Mine Dining Room is a reputable food and beverage establishment in the Melbourne precinct.They are currently looking for an experienced Chef to join their kitchen team.The RoleThis is a full-time role with an annual salary set at $73,500, depending on experience plus superannuation.The ResponsibilitiesPerform general or specialized cooking, butchering, baking and/or supervises and trains cooks and kitchen employeesPerforming specialized cooking dutiesMaintains stock and par levelsMaintaining a clean and sanitized work stationFollowing kitchen standard operating proceduresSupervising of cooks of a lower gradeTraining cooks of a lower gradeEnsure staff are performing to standard operating procedures and if not, escalate to the responsible managerEnsure cooks/kitchen staff are trained to standard operating proceduresParticipate in training sessions as advised by the department managerApply these learnings in the workplaceTo attend team meeting as requiredTo actively provide suggestionsTo work as part of a team and achieve team outcomesTo follow company occupational health and safety policies and procedures at all timesTo report any unsafe practices or situations to the manager on duty immediatelyTo perform other duties which are in line with the positions skills and experience as required from the manager from time to timeTo adhere to all company policies and procedures at all timesPresentation and grooming standards are adhered toThe Requirements:To be considered for the position you must meet the following requirements:Relevant qualifications in cookery or hospitalityHas a least 2 years' experience working in a commercial kitchenAt least 2 years' experience of menu planning and new dish planningDemonstrated ability to multi-taskExperience supervising staffAbility to manage stock and par levels within budgetDemonstrated experience working in a fast paced environmentIs punctual and able to follow instructionsEnjoys working as part of a teamMaintains a clean and sanitized work areaIs able to communicate clearlyShares a passion for the hospitality industry
