Client Intake Officer, Casual Opportunity in Gambling Treatment and Research ClinicConduct client intakes and referrals for the GambleAware ServiceHEO 4 Step 1 $54.79 per hour plus SuperAbout the opportunityPRIMARY FUNCTIONThe client intake officer works within a team of intake workers, conducting client intakes and referrals for the Gambling Treatment and Research Clinic. This involves guiding clients through the University’s GambleAware program, including welcoming clients, conducting intake assessments/triage activities, and making external referrals as needed. The role also undertakes data entry and administrative duties connected with the client intake processes.DECISION MAKING AND DELEGATIONS OF AUTHORITYRequires oversight and advice from the senior clinical supervisor and manager on a daily basis.Your key responsibilities will be toundertake intake, which includes taking calls, warm referrals, collecting information about suitability for service and other clinically relevant informationmake external referrals if appropriateenter client information into the databaseliaise with GambleAware staff (including contracted partner staff) to ensure coordinated service deliveryundertake follow-up of clients to administer standard assessmentstake minutes of meetings and document policies as directed by the Gambling Treatment and Research Clinic managerundertake ad-hoc projects and other activitiesAbout you2nd – 3rd year in Psychology, Behavioural or Social Sciences or a related field desireddemonstrated ability to identify, analyse and solve problems to provide accurate and appropriate outcomesexcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgroundsexcellent written and oral communication skillshighly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Officeability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlinesSponsorship / work rights for AustraliaVisa sponsorship is not available for this position.
