About the role: The Senior Executive Director, Performance and Commissioning Group, provides executive leadership and management. The role will lead a team of executives and directors and will oversee strong and transparent governance and accountability across Victoria's healthcare services. This includes planning, resourcing, monitoring and managing healthcare services to meet population need and improve outcomes. The role reports directly to the Deputy Secretary and will have close working relationships with the Secretary of the department, the Minister for Health and the Minister for Ageing. The Senior Executive Director will also be expected to lead a group of enabling functions to deliver on the division's strategic priorities. These relate to people and culture, ways of working, and internal performance and insights. The role will lead engagement and manage relationships with healthcare services in its performance monitoring and governance oversight roles and engage with colleagues across the division and department to inform system-wide performance matters. About you: Lead and provide authoritative policy advice and briefings to Ministers, the Secretary and the Deputy Secretary, Hospitals and Health Services Division, and senior management on healthcare service performance. Lead and oversee the commissioning of healthcare services, including planning, purchasing, monitoring and managing healthcare services to meet population need and improve outcomes. Lead and oversee critical relationships with healthcare services to identify performance matters and governance issues and work with services to improve outcomes and to promote and support the implementation of agreed approaches to deliver improvements. Be accountable for informing system-wide improvement needs through leading and overseeing the: monitoring of healthcare service performance; engagement with executive-level internal and external stakeholders; monitoring emerging health and community care system trends; and developing long-term and multi-phased plans that align with the Government's strategic directions. Oversee and provide authoritative advice for the Hospitals and Health Services Division, departmental executives, the Minister for Health and the Minister for Ageing on the interface between the Performance and Commissioning Group and other strategic projects across the department related to health service performance and aged care services. Manage the Performance and Commissioning Group to ensure its human, financial and physical resources are employed in an effective, efficient and accountable manner. Contribute to shaping the department's strategic vision and culture as a member of the senior executive and take full responsibility for developing the strategic direction for the area of responsibility, integrating a range of activities, programs and functions to support organisational goals and priorities.
