You will lead a high-performing team responsible for research management administration, researcher development initiatives, and strategic projects aimed at enhancing funding pathways and knowledge exchange. As a primary advisor to the Associate Dean (Research), you will collaborate closely with senior leaders in the central Research Office to deliver top-notch research support services across all campuses. Your responsibilities include partnering with the Associate Dean and other senior leaders to develop and implement effective research strategies, leveraging your knowledge of research performance and growth areas. You will oversee team performance, support career development, and foster collaboration within and between teams. Additionally, you'll manage the provision of comprehensive research support services, ensuring they align with organisational needs while maintaining transparency and efficiency. Strong partnerships with the Faculty Infrastructure and Facilities function, as well as a commitment to client-oriented service and continuous improvement, will be crucial in driving the success of the Faculty's research agenda. About You The ideal candidate will bring extensive leadership experience in managing a research centre or research administration within a university, government department, or industry. You will bring exceptional project management skills, demonstrating the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines while quickly assimilating information and applying your knowledge to benefit the organisation. A strong understanding of Australian granting agencies, international funding opportunities, and the operational frameworks of State and Federal governments impacting tertiary education and research funding is essential. Furthermore, you should have a broad awareness of current issues in the Australian higher education sector, particularly relating to research and research quality. You should have a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence that values diversity and inclusion, and upholding UQ's values while contributing to its long-term goals. Furthermore, your highly developed interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to negotiate and build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, while your experience in managing organisational change will be crucial for driving strategic initiatives and improving business effectiveness.
