The Mental Health Hospital in the Home (MHHITH) team is a virtual ward of the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH). MHHITH provides mental health acute care to adults aged between 18 to 65, living within a 40km radius of Hobart, with an average length of stay of 14 days. The team works a rotating roster 7 days per week, from 0700 to 2200hrs.
As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
The CNC of MHHITH will provide leadership to this team to provide acute care for patients at their residence as a substitute for in-hospital acute care. Note that the CNC position is a day worker position - working Monday to Friday from 0830 to 1700hrs. The CNC provides clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team, as well as coordinating patient flow via admissions and discharges, and managing the referrals and waitlist.
You will need:
* Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to manage and coordinate the clinical activities within a multidisciplinary based mental health acute care team; with the ability to assist the stream Manager in relation to the effective management of human and physical resources as required.
* Demonstrated specialist level knowledge and advanced practice in relation to the field of mental health including a proven ability to provide a range of assessments, specialist treatments and interventions.
* Demonstrated capacity to positively role model and effectively undertake a coordination/leadership role within a multidisciplinary community based mental health acute care team, including providing supervision and support to other staff as required.
Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.

* Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Desirable Criteria:
* Holds or is working towards a relevant post graduate qualification.
* Current Driver’s Licence.
