Description About the Role We are currently seeking Trainee Engineers to join our team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to kickstart their career in the Maritime Industry. As a Trainee Engineer, you will undergo comprehensive training to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become an integral part of our crew. You will be employed on a fixed-term basis for the period of the traineeship and will be required to work a roster of 6 weeks at sea and 2 weeks off while obtaining the qualifying sea time. You will enrol in Maritime College to obtain a Bachelor of Applied Science (Marine Engineering) or an Advanced Diploma of Applied Science (Marine Engineering ). Your duties as a Trainee Engineer will encompass a range of responsibilities that include but are not limited to: Understudy the duties of engineers, carrying out maintenance tasks as allocated by the Chief Engineer under supervision as required. Use the approved TAGS book supplied by the Training Institution, to record and pursue the training program which will be submitted to the institute for final approval. Engineering watchkeeping; preparation and operation of the engine plant; maintenance and knowledge of plant components such as main and auxiliary engines, boiler and steam plants, refrigeration, etc. Ensure compliance with relevant company, maritime and healthy and safety regulations.
