About the Opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our amazing Boggabri team, approximately, 30 minutes from Gunnedah, NSW. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations including the production and presentation of all meal services, ensuring HSQE and ISO Quality Assurance Certifications are maintained, employee development and management, menu development, rostering, auditing, budgeting, and reporting.
This is a fulltime permanent position working on a 14-7 roster.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare, cook & present high-quality food & beverages to agreed menus and operating standards
2. To maintain safe and hygienic food preparation and storage areas, including proper storage of food, equipment, utensils and implements.
3. To carry out daily temperature checks of fridges, freezers, storage areas, deliveries, recording results and taking appropriate action if any fall below standard.
4. To develop excellent product knowledge and advise guests and staff accordingly.
5. To carry out work safely to company and statutory standards, including HACCP and ISO accreditations
6. To work harmoniously with the Kitchen team and other village teams
7. To always apply safe work practices to contribute to the safety culture at Civeo.
About You
8. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery qualification (or equivalent) - International Qualifications must be Australian recognised & translated
9. Demonstrated leadership experience in the kitchen
10. Demonstrated relevant work experience, preferably in the commercial hospitality industry
11. Experience in remote work, high volume and fast paced kitchens
12. Competence in batch cooking across all service offerings
13. Strong communication, time management & organisational skills
14. A great team player with the ability to adapt and work well under pressure
15. Must be flexible to work across any shifts as required
16. A National Police Clearance or be willing to obtain one
17. Pass a pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol testing
18. Valid Australian work rights
19. Current Driver’s Licence (highly regarded)
