About the role Australian Red Cross delivers the support for Trafficked People Program, assisting people who have experienced human trafficking, slavery, and slavery-like practices, including forced marriage, and forced labour. People referred to the Support Program may have experienced trauma, physical and psychological abuse and often have complex and individualised needs. Conducting safety planning, risk assessments and developing case plans to support referred clients with complex and individualised needs. The Case Worker will focus on providing individualised case management support to meet the safety, health and welfare needs of people engaged with the Program, collaborating with other agencies and organisations to source appropriate support for clients. To be successful in this role you will have a high level of cultural competence and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds who have experienced isolation and facing systemic barriers to identification and in accessing services. You will also have proven ability to provide high quality casework support, and a demonstrated understanding of a client directed, strengths-based casework approach - where clients' strength and capacities are recognised and built upon and their resilience acknowledged. What you will bring Experience in high quality, specialist casework support and case management Demonstrated understanding of how to holistically assess complex client needs, including conducting risk assessments, safety plans and developing effective case plans to meet individual goals. Experience in working competently with staff and clients from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds with respect and humility.
