The successful Infrastructure Engineer specialising in Virtual Networking will be responsible for designing, building, improving, and supporting the Software Defined Networking (SDN) that serves as a core component of a Defence project infrastructure platform.The successful contractor will collaborate within a self-directed, cross-functional team, taking guidance from the Project Manager to achieve key business goals and from the Solutions Architect to align with technical vision and governance. This role is part of a holistic engineering team where documenting as you build, prioritising security, and using a test-driven approach are essential practices to ensure high-quality results and a comprehensive understanding of the system at all times.Responsibilities:Develop and support VMware-based SDN, focusing on security and reliability.Lead design, testing, and configuration in an agile setting.Document build instructions, detailed designs, and schematics.Conduct network maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades.Skills Required:Essential: VMware NSX, micro-segmentation, network security design, documentation.Desirable: Cisco networking, strong team communication, iterative project experience.Qualifications:5+ years in network/SDN (Defence preferred).NV2 Clearance & Australian Citizenship required.This is a long-term contract on won work.
