Co-Generation Power Station Mechanical Fitter
Cape Byron Management Pty Ltd is one of Australia's largest privately-owned renewable energy companies and operates two biomass fired boiler and steam turbine generator power plants: Broadwater 38MW and Condong 30MW located near Byron Bay on the north coast of NSW.
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team and assist in executing the daily maintenance activities at our Broadwater and Condong Cogeneration Power Stations. Your experience in fixed plant maintenance is needed to ensure the mechanical plant operates safely and reliably to deliver the business objectives. The successful applicant will be based at our Condong site.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
* Maintenance of a wide range of equipment and key components applicable to a cogeneration power station including boilers, turbines, conveyor systems, pumps, valves, pipelines, motors, and gearboxes.
* Ensuring all maintenance mechanical works are completed in a safe manner and compliance with established safe work procedures and systems.
* Understanding and implementing quality control techniques.
* Performing non-trade tasks incidental to his/her work.
* Utilising the CMMS and participating in the work management process.
* Actively participating in continuous improvement and RCA programs to ensure that the mechanical opportunities are identified and implemented.
* Demonstrating a commitment to ongoing training, learning, and understanding of the operation and processes.
* On-call rostering for breakdown support.
Skills and Experience:
* Cert III Engineering Mechanical Trade or equivalent (Mechanical Fitter – Fixed Plant).
* Power Generation or Heavy Industry experience (Essential).
* Fitting + Turning and machining (desirable) + welding (very desirable).
* High-Risk Licenses: Forklift, EWP, Rigger/Dogger, Confined Space, Working at Heights (Desirable).
Demonstrate the following:
* Experience and knowledge in fixed plants.
* Installation, commissioning, and fault-finding capabilities and experience, able to work unsupervised.
* Experience in plant maintenance software (CMMS) such as SAP, Ellipse, MEX or other systems.
* Proven skills and experience associated with undertaking a wide range of maintenance, breakdown, and installation of mechanical fitting tasks and projects as associated with a heavy industrial operation.
* Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills; including the ability to liaise with and work cooperatively with a wide range of people in the workplace.
* Demonstrated understanding and capacity to adhere to and oversee the adherence to the site’s Workplace Health, Safety & Environment requirements.
