About The Role
This is a Continuous Applicant Pool being used to recruit Business Support Officers to provide services in our Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing, Regional and Rural Development Business Centres. Applications will be assessed for suitability as employment opportunities arise and will remain in the pool for 12 months from the closing date. You may be offered a fixed-term temporary position if deemed suitable, pending availability of future vacancies.
In This Role You Will
* Communicate complex service and referral options to clients using oral communication skills and active listening skills, including the ability to paraphrase and summarise.
* Interrogate Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing, Regional and Rural Development databases and product systems to deliver quality customer service.
* Undertake a range of financial activities including receipting (including the use of EFTPOS facilities), reconciling and banking, purchasing and payment of invoices.
* Perform administrative duties for the business centre including but not limited to:
* The maintenance of registers in accordance with policy
* Open the daily incoming mail and preparation of outgoing mail, and dispatch and receipt of courier items
* Liaising with contractors and other government departments for the provision of site maintenance and services
* Procurement of office supplies
* Asset stocktaking
* Motor vehicle fleet management
* Other duties as required.
What We're Looking For
* The possession of a current C class driver's licence is essential.
* Travel away from the centre may be required. This may involve travel outside of normal office hours and/or overnight accommodation.
