Where you'll be working: The Bangawarra Ward is an Oncology medical inpatient ward with a bed base of 8 beds. The ward has capacity to surge to 12 beds during times of increased demand. The ward is supported by a multidisciplinary team including the Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Practitioner, Oncology Clinical Nurse Consultant, Allied Health, Palliative Care Team and Oncology Medical Team. This highly skilled multi-disciplinary team are passionate and committed to providing a high level of care when managing patients with various Oncology conditions and needs. The Enrolled Nurse delivers high quality nursing care to patients/clients of The Sutherland Hospital consistent with SESLHD and The Sutherland Hospital policies, procedures and standards. The Enrolled Nurse works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse/Midwife, and assists in the provision of nursing care. Enrolled Nurses retain responsibility for their personal actions whilst remaining accountable to the Registered Nurse/Midwife for delegated functions. Holds a Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia approved qualification in medicines administration. Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems. Knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Enrolled Nurse in applying these principles.
