Wildflower Kitchen is located inside Mercure Sunshine Coast Kawana Waters.
We are a 4.5-star full-service hotel, open 24/7 located next to Sunshine Coast University Hospitals. The restaurant is open 7 days for Breakfast and Dinner. Our kitchen team provides a consistent and high-quality standard of food to our guests. To be successful in this role you will need to have a creative flair, be adventurous and versatile in your approach to cooking, and have the ability to draw upon the flavors of modern cuisine. The key responsibilities will include:
* Hands-on approach to food service within the kitchen whilst maintaining high levels of service on a daily basis;
* Strong focus on quality and stock control;
* Continuation of set procedures to create consistent practices within the kitchen;
* Maintaining strong team morale and cooperate with the effective training of apprentices, trainees, and dishwashing personnel;
* The ability to adapt to different kitchen requirements and work alongside a diverse team of professionals;
* Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-prepared service area.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A can-do, responsible, and flexible approach to work;
* A strong work ethic and a passion for preparing high-quality food;
* The ability to maintain high workloads, and meet deadlines within specific time frames;
* Prior experience desired in staging outstanding food services in a restaurant or hotel setting;
* An ability to thrive under pressure and work as a team in a high-paced environment;
* A great sense of style and immaculate presentation and grooming;
* Attainment of the necessary Food Handler’s certificate;
* Initiative, commitment, and passion for your job;
* The ability to work under pressure and work on your feet for long periods;
* A strong appreciation and compliance of workplace safety.
This is a casual role, working a spread of shifts over a 7-day roster, including weekdays, weekends, nights, and public holidays.
