The BMA Approvals team comprises approximately twenty (20) people who work closely together to collaborate across a variety of exciting projects ranging from larger mining expansions through to medium-sized capital projects and more day-to-day activities and studies.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
* Identification and coordination of external approval requirements including delivering all non-environmental approvals
* Working with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate agreements, obtain development approvals and secure licences and permits
* Management of external non-environmental approvals consultants
* Developing and implementing approvals strategies to support continuation and expansion of mining and associated activities
* Providing project input and advice to both major and minor projects on external approvals requirements, to deliver access and approvals in a timely manner
* Facilitating internal SMEs to provide approvals and access advice on a broad range of projects across BMA
* Managing relationships and coordination arrangements with third party infrastructure providers, other resource permit holders, local communities and governments
About You:
We have a strong focus on finding individuals with the right values, leadership and communication skills. Your interpersonal skills will foster collaborative working relationships and your ability to consolidate and analyse information will provide critical thinking and a solution-focused attitude.
* 5+ years of approvals experience in resource sector, planning or related industry
* Understanding of Queensland mining and planning legislation
* Demonstrated experience in securing mining and/or development approvals in Queensland
* Experience in supporting the execution of multi-functional projects
* Ability to support projects and programs within the business, provide advice and engage effectively at all levels; and
* Demonstrated success in working effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, and ability to influence and enable others to achieve effective outcomes
* Tertiary qualifications or equivalent relevant experience (e.g. Legal, Planning, Environmental)
