About Us
The Role
Due to steady growth in our South West QLD region, we have a new opportunity for a Senior Social Worker to join our team, with the option to be based at our Ipswich or Toowoomba offices. Reporting to the Team Manager, you will take a leadership position within the fostering services team and provide mentoring and practice support with a focus on the delivery of quality, evidenced-based social work services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing supervision and coaching to carers to support them to develop their skills and behaviour management strategies.
* Provide specialist advice on more complex or sensitive cases and practice issues that is responsive to the changing needs of children, young people, carers and families.
* Work closely with the Key Assets Recruitment and Panel Manager and Placements Manager to ensure the program is adequately resourced and placements are matched in line with the program procedures.
* Ensuring compliance with child protection procedures and Key Asset policies and procedures.
* Model a culture of continuous improvement throughout the Kinship and Foster Care program, focusing on systems and processes that will improve outcomes for clients.
About You
We are looking for the below:
* A recognised Social Work qualification.
* Proven track record in working with and or on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality and promoting their positive development.
* Prior experience supervising and coaching other team members.
* Ability to create a positive working environment where people have the opportunity to reach their potential.
* A comprehensive working knowledge of all relevant legislation pertaining to children's services.
