This role provides a unique opportunity to shape the future of transport infrastructure in the region while leading a dedicated team of professionals.Primary Objectives:In this role, you will:Provide strategic leadership and serve as the primary expert for technical advice on transport and road network asset management.Develop policies, strategic plans, and operational frameworks to support Council’s Transport Strategic Asset Management System.Lead transport planning initiatives, engage with internal and external stakeholders, and represent Council in regional and state-level collaborations.Key Responsibilities:Coordinate the development, implementation, and review of Strategic Transport Asset Management documentation, including Asset Management and Investment Plans.Oversee inspection processes and define service levels for transport infrastructure such as road pavements, lighting, footpaths, and bridges.Develop and manage Local Government Infrastructure Planning (LGIP) transport plans aligned with a 10-year Capital Works Program.Provide technical leadership and guidance to support and technical staff.Manage the strategic planning budget for transport infrastructure.Conduct investigations and propose innovative solutions for traffic and transport challenges, including local area traffic management and long-term strategic objectives.Represent Council on regional technical committees, inter-agency working groups, and community engagements.Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.Selection Criteria:Essential:Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with eligibility for Engineers Australia/Professionals Australia membership.Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or eligibility to attain within six months.Extensive experience in senior engineering roles, strategic asset management, and transport planning within large organisations.Proficient in road and traffic planning principles, project management, and GIS tools.Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, deliver quality reports, and engage with diverse stakeholders.Current “C” Class Driver’s License.Desirable:Postgraduate qualifications in Traffic/Transport Engineering.Benefits:Up to 5 weeks annual leave.Flexible working arrangements.Subsidised health and wellbeing memberships.Up to 3 weeks personal leave.How to Apply:Submit your application, addressing the key responsibilities and selection criteria.For more information, please contact Anna at Chandler Macleod: anna.dziopa@chandlermacleod.com 07 3003 7787Take the lead in shaping a resilient, efficient, and future-ready transport network.
