About thePosition
As the Principal Project Officer for Child Care Services, youwill lead the development of strategic projects and policies thatenhance the early years system in South Australia. Your expertiseand leadership will drive the successful initiation, delivery, andevaluation of state-wide programs, ensuring they align with ourvision for the future early years system. You'll collaborate withvarious stakeholders and agencies to ensure service reforms areintegrated and effective, creating a positive impact on younglearners.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and coordinate the development of policies, programs, and strategies with a focus on user-centered design.
2. Provide expert advice to deliver strategic and operational plans to achieve departmental objectives.
3. Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to support families and educators.
4. Manage and lead the effective implementation of major policies and projects within budget and time constraints.
5. Apply your high-level discipline expertise to improve business frameworks and government policies.
What You Bring
To excel in this role, you should have:
6. Proven experience in managing and leading the development and implementation of major policies and projects.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise, consult, and negotiate at senior levels.
8. Demonstrated ability to identify and develop key strategic relationships with stakeholders.
9. Experience in project management of complex projects, delivering outcomes within time and budget constraints.
10. High-level organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle sensitive issues and meet deadlines.
Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department forHuman Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior tobeing employed which is required to be renewed every five yearsbefore expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertakeRRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect -Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course orthe online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to beupdated every three years.
