About Ngamai Wilam
Ngamai Wilam is a newly built 12-bed residential eating disorder treatment facility in Armadale, set to open in May 2025. Jointly funded by the Australian Federal Government and the Victorian Government, this specialist statewide service will be managed by Alfred Health. The service will provide 24/7 trauma-informed, recovery-focused care for adults aged 18 and over, in a gender-inclusive, home-like therapeutic environment. With a strong focus on family and chosen supports, Ngamai Wilam is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes long-term recovery.
About the Role
As an Enrolled Nurse, you will:
* Play a vital role in supporting individuals in their recovery journey within a residential eating disorders program
* Have experience in mental health nursing and the ability to provide person-centred, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care under the delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse
* Monitor participants' mental and physical health, support daily therapeutic activities, contribute to care planning and deliver evidence-informed support tailored to the unique needs of people experiencing eating disorders
* Have a strong understanding of the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act (2022) and other relevant legislation
* Have well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with participants, families, chosen supports and the broader multidisciplinary team
* Work collaboratively with the clinical and lived experience workforce, fostering a therapeutic and recovery-oriented environment that upholds dignity, choice and self-determination
About You
* Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled Nurse) with registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board via AHPRA
* Medication Endorsement (must be listed on AHPRA registration)
* Experience in mental health nursing and/or eating disorders
* Commitment to recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice
* Experience working in a residential, inpatient or community mental health setting
* Experience providing therapeutic care for individuals with eating disorders across hospital, community or specialist settings
* Knowledge of Dialogical Practice and its application in mental health care
* Australian working rights
* Current Victorian Driver License, Working with Children Check and Background Check
