In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment across one or multiple construction projects. Reporting to a Senior Safety Manager or Regional Safety Director, you will play a key role in shaping safety culture, conducting audits, providing technical support, and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
This position requires proactive leadership and expertise in safety management to drive continuous improvement and incident prevention. You may also oversee Safety Coordinators and Field Safety Specialists.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct daily site audits, provide safety guidance, and collaborate with project teams and field leadership. Act as the go-to expert for safety-related concerns, training, and regulatory compliance. Lead investigations into incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Develop and maintain site-specific safety plans and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Provide safety training to employees and subcontractors, covering areas such as hazard communication, fall protection, confined space entry, and lockout/tagout procedures. Oversee injury case management and coordinate with insurance representatives. Ensure medical facilities are identified, emergency response plans are in place, and crisis management strategies are developed. Manage safety budgets, resources, and training aids for assigned projects. Maintain accurate records of training, audits, and incident reports. What You Bring: Strong knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to identify and mitigate risks. Excellent communication skills to interact with employees, management, and clients. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety audit software. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related field (preferred). Professional Safety Certification (GSP, CHST) is a plus. 6+ years of relevant safety experience in construction. Up to 100% travel required Work will take place in both office and construction site settings with varying noise levels and environmental conditions. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
