Sydney Wealth Management Contract or Temporary
Our client, a leading Private Wealth Manager, seeks an experienced Know Your Client (KYC) professional to join their team in Sydney for an initial 12-month contract.
Role Overview
The Account Management Team requires a candidate to ensure Know Your Client documentation is maintained throughout the client lifecycle, adhering to global standards and local regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Support KYC review and remediation processes across all risk levels, including Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) reviews.
* Review client-provided documentation and follow up on missing information or inconsistencies.
* Validate accuracy of values impacting client's ML/TF risk, focusing on Source of Wealth and Total Net Worth.
* Ensure periodic review and approval records are retained properly and monitor outstanding documentation receipt within required timeframe.
* Engage with Sales teams to share KYC and ML / TF related guidance, improving standard and quality of client due diligence.
* Resolve Sales queries and requests from Global Financial Crimes (GFC), Compliance Testing, and Audit Teams in a timely manner.
Requirements
* Strong knowledge of KYC documentation (CIP, Ownership, and SOW), industry regulations, and best practices.
* Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
* Strong sense of ownership and teamwork, able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
* Effective communication skills to instruct and advise Sales teams and stakeholders.
* Ability to articulate issues concisely and communicate effectively with different levels of seniority.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Banking, or equivalent education or experience.
* ~3-5 years' experience in KYC/Financial Crime, preferably with previous experience in Compliance or Risk within a private bank or top-tier bank.
This role will be hired on an initial 12-month contract, with the intention of extension or transition to a permanent position. The client is not considering sponsorship at this time, so only applicants with full working rights will be considered.
