About the role Tritium is hiring an Electrical Engineer in Murarrie, Brisbane, reporting to the Head of Sustaining Engineering.
This role ensures product reliability and production efficiency across global manufacturing.
Responsibilities include design, development, and verification of electrical power systems, compliance testing, and field servicing, overseeing components, wiring diagrams, and specifications from concept to production and installation.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Own assigned electrical/electronic systems, ensuring DFM/DFA/DFS principles are applied in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Investigate and resolve production and field non-conformances (NCRs) using FMEA and 8D root cause analysis.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Value Engineering (VAVE) methodologies.
• Design and develop electrical components and systems for EV charging, ensuring standardization and seamless integration.
• Prototype, test, and validate solutions through simulations, lab testing, and real-time field trials.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (UL, CSA, IEC, IEEE, AS, CE) and manage certification/re-certification documentation.
• Collaborate with Electronics, Software, and Firmware Engineers to ensure complete system implementation.
• Work with Senior Engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve electrical issues and enhance system performance.
• Support Operations by implementing solutions via Change Management Control and acting as the SME for stakeholders.
About you • Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, with 3-5 years of experience.
• Experience with high-power DC-DC and AC-DC conversion systems, focusing on efficiency, reliability, and thermal management for EV chargers.
• Proficient in DFM/DFA/DFS principles and both design and process FMEA applications.
• Knowledge of EMC design requirements, testing standards, and mitigation techniques for high-power systems.
• Ability to interface with hardware and firmware, ensuring seamless integration of control systems, communication interfaces, and HMIs.
• Understanding of UL, IEC, and ISO standards for EV chargers, with experience in compliance documentation and validation testing.
• Expertise in thermal design, including heatsinks, cooling systems, and thermal analysis.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and ability to work independently or cross-functionally under pressure.
Highly Desirable: • Project engineering experience with strong product ownership and proficiency in project planning tools (JIRA, MS Project).
• Expertise in EV charging systems, including fast chargers, grid-tied systems, load management, and energy storage integration.
• Experience with power electronics, EMC testing, high-voltage circuits, PCB layouts, and power system documentation.
• Skilled in CAD and PLM tools (SolidWorks, Windchill, ALTIUM, LTSPICE) for design, development, and deployment.
