We collaborate with Defence to develop highly modular and scalable products that have become integral to a broad range of critical Defence capabilities.The PositionIn this role, you will assist in providing directions for the research and development of specialised system designs by extending existing knowledge and exploiting a wide range of leading edge technologies. You will be involved in cross-disciplinary research, development and modelling/simulation activities relevant to radar systems. Prior radar systems knowledge and experience is advantageous but not necessary.Key responsibilitiesOur ideal person will be responsible for:System performance modelling and evaluation.Measurement and analysis of system-derived data.Provide engineering solutions and analyses to other engineering departments.About You5 or more years of relevant experience within an analytical discipline with a B.Eng or B.Sc or equivalent.Masters/PhD-qualified candidates are also encouraged to apply.Experience in Matlab/Simulink, Python and/or Maple, and an aptitude to extend these skills further.Good research & problem solving skills with ability to design and implement system performance evaluation & modelling tools.An aptitude for developing knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of common signal processing algorithms including time-frequency analysis, filtering, detection, signal conditioning/SNR enhancement.Ability to apply technical knowledge across a number of engineering disciplines.An aptitude for developing analytical & mathematical skills encompassing real/complex analysis, matrix algebra, stochastic processes & information theory.An aptitude for developing knowledge of hardware engineering (e.g., RF, analogue, digital) & software engineering (e.g., real-time programming, embedded systems, C++) relevant to applications in radar & communications systems.Good oral/written communication skills - interacting with other groups, writing proposals, giving clear and accurate engineering advice.Eligible to obtain and maintain an NV2 AGSVA clearance.
